UMKC Completes Second Round at MSU Spring Citrus Challenge

SORRENTO, Fla. – UMKC women’s golf improved by 13 strokes in the second round of the MSU Spring Citrus Challenge and moved up a spot to eighth place with a collective 302 (+14) on Monday.

Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) led the Roos with a 1-under par 71 in the second round. She is tied for seventh individually at 4-over for the tournament. Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) shot 77 (+5) in the middle round and is tied for 11th at 7-over through 36 holes.

Mackenzie Black (Independence, Iowa) carded a 74 (+2) on Monday and sits at 9-over in a tie for 25th after two rounds.

Abbey Campbell (Garden City, Kan.) registered an 80 (+8) and Cyrielle Kern (Cuvry, France) shot 81 (+9) in the second round.

Murray State moved into the team lead at 25-over par. Florida Gulf Coast is three strokes back. Madeline Marck-Sterk of FCGU leads individually by three strokes and is the lone golfer under par out of 84 participating in the tournament.

Tuesday’s final round begins with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. Live stats are not available for the tournament.
