Roos Travel West for WAC Championship Meet This Saturday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After finishing in the middle of the pack for the Ideal Renters Pink Classic, the UMKC men’s and women’s cross country teams will look to rise above the rest of the competition when they head to the WAC Championships this weekend, located in Seattle, Wash.

Coming off a 13th and 14th place finish for both squads two weeks ago in Peoria, Ill., UMKC will be taking all the experience from this season and harness it for a chance at conference glory.

All nine WAC teams this weekend will race on Saturday, Oct. 27th at Jefferson Park Golf Course.

Starting for the UMKC women’s squad will be Mia Jerman (Ste. Genevieve, Mo.), Katie Hanners (Jackson, Mo.), Halley Dean (Shawnee, Kan.), Claire Fuhlhage, Caroline Meyers, Sommer Herner and Sarah Jaloma.

Looking at the lineup for the men’s side, the starters for the Roos will consist of Daylan Quinn (Mountain View, Mo.), Marcus Johnson (Nixa, Mo.), Ryan Parson (Farmington, Mo.), Max Selbach, Maury Miller, Walker Miller, Josh Sanders (Maryville, Mo.), Lachlan Moore (Nixa, Mo.) and Caleb Feuerbacher.

In regards to the WAC Championship, the men’s team will be looking defend their crown as they have taken home the title the last two years. UMKC will have their sights on their third championship in as many years when they arrive to the course on Saturday.

The men’s team will race in the 8k meet at 9 a.m. CT while the women’s team will embark on a 6k race that will begin at 8 a.m. CT.
