LAS VEGAS, Nev. – UMKC women’s basketball forward Kristen Moore (Chicago, Ill.) has been named to the 2017 Western Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team, the league office announced.
In the opening round of the tournament against UT Rio Grande Valley, the Roos overcame an 18-point deficit to capture their first WAC tournament win, topping the Vaqueros, 77-69. Moore contributed 19 points, going 5-for-11 from the field and 9-for-10 from the charity stripe, to lead the team. She also grabbed nine rebounds, handed out an assist and blocked a shot.
The No. 5-seeded Roos saw their season end against top-seeded New Mexico State in the semifinal round of the tournament, falling to the Aggies, 71-63. Moore led four Roos in double figures with a career-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists.
For the tournament, Moore averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 31.0 minutes of action.
Moore was joined on the all-tournament team by New Mexico State’s Moriah Mack and Tamera William and Seattle University’s Kaylee Best and Wilma Afunugo.
