COLUMBIA, Mo. – The UMKC women’s golf team continues its 2017-18 season when it heads to Columbia, Mo., for the Johnie Imes Invitational on Oct. 1-2 at the Old Hawthorne Golf Club (par-72; 6,204-yard).
Monday’s opening round will feature tee times set for 9 a.m. CT with the first Roo set to tee-off at 10:17, while Tuesday’s second round is also slated for tee times at 9 a.m. CT. Wednesday’s third and final round, meanwhile, is scheduled for a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The field 14-team field includes: Bradley, East Tennessee State, FGCU, FIU, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, Missouri State, North Texas, UALR, UMKC and Wichita State.
About the Roos
Last time out the Roos finished in a tie for eighth at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial. Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) led the Roos in the event, finishing in a tie for 22nd with a three-round score of 226 (75-74-77), while fellow Colombian Maria Henao (Pereira, Colombia) tied for 37th on the final leaderboard with a 230 (78-78-74). Senior Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.), meanwhile, finished in a tie for 40th with a 232 (81-78-73).
Roos at Johnie Imes Invitational
UMKC returns to the Johnie Imes Invitational for the first time since 2014 when they finished tied for 10th in the event.
The Blue & Gold will head west to Lakewood, Wash., for the Seattle U Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational at the Tacoma Golf & Country Club on Oct. 16-17.
