As part of UMKC’s Founders Week activities, the UMKC Men’s Basketball team volunteered for the campus-wide Day of Service on Saturday, September 29th.  Throughout the morning, various staff, faculty and students engaged in efforts to beautify campus.

The Men’s Basketball team worked closely with Chancellor Agrawal and his family to plant flowers and beautify the area in front between Swinney Recreation Center and the Performing Arts Center. Head Coach Kareem Richardson, along with his coaching staff, worked hand-in-hand with their team and the Chancellor.  Richardson noted that “participating in the Day of Service was extremely important since we had an opportunity to help better our campus.  Many of the players had an opportunity to learn how to plant flowers for the first time, so we were able to give back and grow at the same time.”

Xavier Bishop, junior on Men’s Basketball, said, “It was really fun to work with others that are passionate about our campus. The most important thing about Saturday was being able to give back to our campus and community.”
