KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC men’s basketball and Head Coach Kareem Richardson announced the signing of Kenny Strawbridge to a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and playing career at UMKC.
“We want to welcome Kenny and his entire family to our Roos Family,” Richardson said. “Kenny is a versatile guard that will help our needs for three-point shooting, passing and perimeter defense.”
Strawbridge joins the Blue & Gold out of Rockford Lutheran High School in Rockford, Ill. Last season, he was named AP Illinois Class 3A All-State and All-State for Classes 3A-4-A by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association after averaging 26.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Strawbridge said on Twitter of joining the Roos, “"First and foremost, I want to thank God with blessing me with my talent and guidance towards me making this decision. I want to thank my family for all the love, support and all the sacrifices they made over the years to get to this point. I would like to thank all the coaches who recruited me and spent the time to get to know my family and me. I would also like to thank all the coaches, trainers and anyone else who has helped me get to the point I am today. With that being said I am excited to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at the University of Missouri-Kansas City ROOS"
