Roos Make Penultimate Road Trip to Chicago State

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC volleyball makes its penultimate road trip of the year when it heads to Chicago, Ill., to take on longtime rival Chicago State on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. CT.

About the Roos UMKC comes into the weekend with an 8-16 mark on the season and a 4-7 record in conference action, picking up wins over Grand Canyon, Chicago State, Seattle and UTRGV.  Four Roos have topped the 100-kill mark on the season, including 248 from Alicia Harrington (Cedar Falls, Iowa), 190 from Mykal Sadler (Des Moines, Iowa), 175 from Alex Ratzlaff (Hillsboro, Kan.) and 120 from Brooke Jacobs (Peoria, Ill.).  In the back row, Rhegan Spiegel (Savannah, Mo.) has a team-high 339 digs with Ratzlaff chipping in 250 and Harrington adding 234.

About the Cougars Chicago State enters the match with a 10-17 record overall and a 1-10 mark in conference play, picking up their lone win over Grand Canyon.  Lauryn Dela Cruz leads the team with 406 kills, while Carmen Carvajal has added 343 and Paige Eyring is at 200.  Lacee Adams sets up the offense with 1,035 assists, while in the back row, Megan Klavitter tops the team with 459 digs and Dela Cruz has 313 and Carvajal has 278.

Up Next The Blue & Gold head west to close out the regular season when they travel to Utah Valley on Nov. 9 and to Seattle U on Nov. 11.  The match with the Wolverines is set for 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, while Saturday’s match with the Redhawks is set for 3 p.m. CT.
