UMKC Welcomes in Cougars for WAC Tilt

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC volleyball team returns to action on Friday evening when it welcomes in longtime rival Chicago State for a 5 p.m. WAC contest at the Swinney Recreation Center on Oct. 6.

About the Roos
UMKC comes into the match with a 5-10 mark on the season and a 1-3 record in conference action with the win coming over Grand Canyon.  Three Roos have topped the 100 kill mark on the season, including 161 from Alicia Harrington (Cedar Falls, Iowa), 148 from Mykal Sadler (Des Moines, Iowa) and 132 from Alex Ratzlaff (Hillsboro, Kan.).  In the back row, Rhegan Spiegel (Savannah, Mo.) has a team-high 250 digs and Ratzlaff has chipped in 201.

About the Cougars
Chicago State enters the match with a 10-10 record overall and a 1-3 mark in WAC play, picking up their lone conference win against Grand Canyon.  Earlier in the season, the Cougars reeled off a six-match winning streak.  Offensively, Lauryn Dela Cruz leads the squad with 318 kills, while Carmen Carvajal has 269.  Defensively, Alexandria Cliff has 58 blocks and Summer Farris 53, with Megan Klavitter leading the back row with 368 digs.
