UMKC to Take Part in Elite Volleyball Tourney at Swinney

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC volleyball will open its spring season on Saturday when it takes part in an elite volleyball tournament featuring five 2017 NCAA DI Tournament teams and one NCAA DII Final Four team at the Swinney Recreation Center.

“This is one of the premier spring volleyball events in the Midwest,” Head Coach Christi Posey said.  “If you are a volleyball fan, this would be a terrific way to spend your Saturday; watching great volleyball and seeing some of your favorite local players on these teams!” 

Joining the Roos on the UMKC campus for the event include Oklahoma, Kansas State, Northern Iowa*, Saint Louis, Missouri*, Kansas*, Wichita State*, Creighton* and Rockhurst^.

During the free event, UMKC volleyball will be holding a “Garage Sale” of athletic apparel that can be purchased during the tournament, including t-shirts, shoes, and shorts from UMKC, Kansas and other programs.

The tournament kicks-off on Apr. 14 at 10 a.m. CT with action on all four courts featuring high-level volleyball!
