Harrington Tabbed as WAC Player of the Week

DENVER, Colo. – UMKC sophomore outside hitter Alicia Harrington (Cedar Falls, Iowa) has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8. This is her first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.

Harrington led the Roos to a sweep of Chicago State last Friday, averaging 4.67 kills, 3.33 digs, 1.00 blocks, 0.67 service aces and a WAC-best 5.83 points. Harrington posted a match-high 14 kills on .300 hitting to go with 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. She also added three blocks and two service aces in the three-set victory. In WAC play, Harrington leads the league in points (4.29), ranks third in kills (3.65) and tied for ninth in digs (3.29).

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Thursday when they welcome in Seattle U for a 7 p.m. match on Oct. 12 at the SRC.
