KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC men’s tennis team will look to grab its second conference postseason title when the squad heads down to Brownsville, Texas, to face off with No. 6 seed Seattle U on Friday, Apr. 26th at 1 p.m. CT in the first round of Western Athletic Conference Tournament.


2019 Regular Season:

  • 9-11 Overall Record
  • 3-2 WAC Record
  • Clinched the No. 3 seed in the WAC Tournament
  • Ended the regular season on a three-match winning streak
  • 4-3 at home this year
  • 1-0 at neutral sites

Doubles Play:

  • Ben Stride and Diego Giraldo combined for 15 wins at the No. 1 spot
  • Both players notched a perfect record in WAC play during the season at the No. 1 spot (5-0)
  • As a team, the Roos produced 31 points in doubles play
  • Stride leads all Roos with 16 wins in doubles competition
  • Giraldo sits in second with 15 wins
  • Current Win Streaks

Singles Play:

  • Ben Stride leads all UMKC players with 15 wins on the year from primarily in the No. 3 spot
  • Diego Giraldo produced a team-high four conference victories
  • Giraldo has won seven of his last eight matches overall
  • Four Roos overall had 10 wins in singles competition during 2019 (Stride, Giraldo, Tom Kruse and Hunter Clark)
  • As a team, the Roos recorded 65 points in singles play
  • Current Win Streaks
