SEATTLE, Wash. – The UMKC men’s tennis team (7-11) would run away with a convincing victory against Seattle U, 7-0, on Friday evening.
Coming off a 1-2 weekend down in Las Cruces, N.M., the Roos got back on track with dominant performances in both doubles and singles play. Ben Stride and Diego Giraldo continued their torrid streak in doubles competition with a victory in the No. 1 spot, improving to 13-4 on the year.
Clinching the doubles point early on, UMKC routed Seattle U with all six spots winning their match-ups on the evening. Looking to come away with a shutout in Seattle, Wash., Hunter Clark fought through adversity in the No. 4 spot and defeated his opponent with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
Anil Patel's win in the No. 6 spot secured the shutout and UMKC’s second victory in conference play for 2019.
