DENVER, Colo. -- UMKC men's tennis players Tom Kruse and Daniel Izadifar were named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Doubles Team of the Week, the conference announced today.

The award is the first of the season for either player, who combined for a 2-0 doubles record with set scores of 6-3 and 6-4 against Illinois State and Northern Illinois this past weekend.

Kruse, a junior from Flensburg, Germany, ranks fifth on the all-time list for doubles wins in a season from his 2018 campaign at 10 victories. Izadifar, junior from Tonsberg, Norway, has surpassed his win total on the 2019 season from last year, as he posted a 1-9 doubles record in 2018.

Looking back at the 2018 season, the last time a UMKC player won a WAC Player of the Week award came from Airam Castellano back on April 24th.

The Roos will next take on Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla., on Saturday, Feb. 9th at 4 p.m. CT.
