KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC men’s tennis team sent a pair of players to Tulsa, Okla., for the ITA All-American Championships.

Tom Kruse picked up an opening round win over Ole Miss’ Jan Soeren Hain, 6-3, 6-3, before falling to Wichita State’s Eddie Stoica. 6-3, 7-5.

Diego Giraldo, meanwhile, dropped his opening round match to Alex Kobelt from Ohio State, 6-3, 7-6 (5), while in his consolation match, he fell to Eastern Washington’s Mikayei Khachatryan, 7-6 (3), 6-2.

The Roos will be back in action again for the ITA Central Region Championship on Oct. 18-22 in Tulsa.
