EL PASO, Texas. – The UMKC men’s golf team climbed two spots into a tie for sixth after two rounds of play at Price’s “Give ‘Em 5” Invitational at the Butterfield Trail Golf Course.
Paul Foulquie (Paris, France) continues to lead the Roos in the event as the freshman sits in a tie for 11th after a second round 72 that included 16 pars and a birdie on the par-5 18th.
Francois Lagraulet (Bordeaux, France) climbed into a tie for 11th with a 71 in round two that was highlighted by an eagle on No. 18, as well as five more birdies.
Matching Lagraulet with a 71 in round two was McCain Schellhardt (Edmond, Okla.) who is currently tied for 26th after notching birdies on the par-5’s of Nos. 2 and 18 and on the par-4 14th.
Taylor Larsen (Garden City, Kan.) is also tied for 26th after a three birdie second round that led to a 74, while Sam Humphreys (Edmond, Okla.) shot a 77 with four birdies, including three on the back nine, to sit in a tie for 46th entering the final round.
Playing as an individual, Jack Hermeston (Newcastle, England) is tied for 78th.
Host UTEP holds the team lead by six shots over Texas State, while the Bobcats’ Calvin Ross is the individual leader at -9.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again tomorrow morning when they tee-off in the third and final round of the event.
