KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC men’s golf team announced the signing of Daniel Gaspar to a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and playing career at UMKC.
“We are thrilled to have Daniel joining us at UMKC,” Head Coach J.W. VanDenBorn said. “He is originally a Kansas kid and someone we felt was a top player in the state. He is extremely talented and fits-in ideally with our returners for next year and what we are trying to accomplish within the program. He will be able to step in and mix it up right away next fall. Landing players like Daniel certainly sets us up well for the future.”
Gaspar joins the Roos out of Twin Falls, Idaho, where he averaged a 71.9 as a junior and a 72.4 as a sophomore. Three times he has led Twin Falls High School to conference titles, while guiding them to a 4A State Championship as a sophomore, a third place finish as a junior and a fifth place finish as a freshman. Individually, he has been has been named conference player of the year and was runner-up at the state tournament as a sophomore. Last season he was a Junior World Qualifier.
