UMKC Completes First Day of GCU Invite

PHOENIX, Ariz. – UMKC men’s golf is in 11th place following the first two rounds of the GCU Invite on Friday at the Grand Canyon University Golf Course. The Roos were in sixth after the first round after shooting a collective 2-over par 286. During the second round, UMKC shot 295 (+11).

In the first round, Francois Lagraulet (Bordeaux, France) shot a 2-under 69. Sam Humphreys (Edmond, Okla.) carded a 71 (E). Jakob Garstecki (Germantown, Wis.) and McCain Schellhardt (Edmond, Okla.) finished with 1-over par scores of 72. Hubert Tisserand (Lyon, France) shot a 73 (+2). Thibault Vieilledent (Cannes, France) finished with a 76 (+5).

Tisserand shot 70 (-1) in the second round and is tied for 26th individually. Lagraulet carded a 75 (+4) on the second 18 and is 2-over par for the tournament. Garstecki shot 73 (+2) and is one shot behind Lagraulet. Humphreys recorded a second round 75 (+4). Vieilledent finished with a 77 (+6). Schellhardt shot 78 (+7).

Saturday’s final round begins with a 10 a.m. CT shotgun start.
