The following is the sixth installment of “Roos Introducing Roos,” a multi-part series introducing the UMKC softball newcomers as told by a returning member of the squad. Noteworthy facts about head coach Meredith Smith Neal's latest additions will be unveiled on a weekly basis as the team approaches the 2018 season.
I am eager to announce Ashlynn "Robbie" Robinson to the UMKC Roos Softball team. This pitcher from Blue, Oklahoma comes with plenty of high school softball awards and accomplishments. Although she doesn't know how she fell into this amazing game, she plays with her whole heart every day, giving herself to the game every time she steps on the field.
Off the field, Robbie enjoys walking her adorable puppy, Bella (one of UMKCs biggest fans!), watching Netflix, and eating Chili's chocolate lava cake. At any given moment when she is not busy with school or softball, you will often find her tucked away in her room napping, probably dreaming about pitching a no-hitter. Her family members are her biggest fans, the biggest being "Crazy Granny" who loves softball almost as much as she loves her granddaughter.
Ashlynn is one of the nicest, sweetest and most determined teammates I have ever played with. She leaves it all on the field every outing and never backs down from a challenge. Her positive attitude is passed on to every teammate around her as you can't help but join into the great environment she creates. Her personal goal this season is to improve her softball skills and I have no doubt that with her determination she will do just that. Welcome home Robbie, we are thrilled to have you!
