The following is the fifth installment of “Roos Introducing Roos,” a multi-part series introducing the UMKC softball newcomers as told by a returning member of the squad. Noteworthy facts about head coach Meredith Smith Neal's latest additions will be unveiled on a weekly basis as the team approaches the 2018 season.

Sophomore Abbi Johnson is the next returner to introduce a newcomer, and today she introduces Kamrie Harrison.

I am happy to introduce Kamrie Harrison from Moore, Oklahoma. I had the opportunity of playing two years of comp ball with Kam with the Oklahoma Exclusive. Kam is a very outgoing and fun personality to be around all of the time, there is never a dull moment when we cross paths. Kam is the daughter of Shawn and Jackie Harrison, an insurance agent and law firm client liaison respectively, and has a sister, Kanille Harrison.  Kam's start into softball was slightly an accident as she decided to give softball a try after her parents showed her a flyer they found about a local team.  From there, her softball career flourished.  Kam was a four year varsity starter for the Moore High School Softball team, where she and her team were two time State Runner-Ups.  During the summers playing for Oklahoma Exclusive, they finished in 3rd place in the ASA 18U Gold Nationals in 2016 and placed second in the ASA 18U Gold National Qualifier.  In addition to her high school softball career, she was also a four year varsity track star, taking home a state championship in the 4x4 event.

She brings the UMKC Softball team speed and quickness.  She hopes to be able to consistently help her team be successful every game by doing the best she can on and off the field. Kam is already off to a great fall season start, I'm very excited and anxious to see what spring and the rest of her UMKC career has in store for her. When she is not on the field, Kam enjoys looking up YouTube vlogs or watching Vine.  She also is currently learning how to play the piano. Ladies and gentlemen, Kamrie Harrison.
