KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC track & field teams placed four student-athletes in the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West Regional in Sacramento, Calif., it was announced today.
On the men’s side, All-American Bryce Miller will look to add to his accolades as he has the 20th best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 8:50.49.
For the women, Carolyn Ross earned a spot in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.73, 35th best in the west, while sisters Matia Finley and Rebecca Finley each qualified in the discus throw. Matia’s throw of 51.92m was good for 35th in the west, while Rebecca’s mark of 50.30m is 47th best.
Ross will get the Roos started as the 400-meter hurdles is the first track event of the meet, scheduled for Thu.., May 23 at 6:30 p.m. CT. If she qualifies, the finals will take place a day later at 9 p.m. CT.
Women’s discus is slated for Sat., May 24 at 2 p.m. CT, while the men’s steeplechase is schedule for 11 p.m. CT.
