NAMPA, Idaho – The UMKC track & field teams closed out day two of the 2018 WAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho, at the Ford Idaho Center.
On the men’s side, five top-five all-time results were notched, led by Christopher Bryan who claimed the title in the long jump with a mark of 7.70 meters, a new school record, while his time of 8.15 in the 60 meter hurdles qualified him for the finals and stands as the fourth best time in school history.
In the 5,000 meter run, Jason Fambrough placed second with a time of 14:50.64, the fourth best time in school history, while Zane Lockhart’s 4,407 points in the heptathlon were good for fourth in the event and second in school history.
Quinlan Moll, meanwhile, finished third in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:50.82, fifth best in school history.
Others recording top-five results for the Roos on day two included Nathan Keown (5,000 meter run – 4th – 14:54.48) and Lachlan Moore, Jaquez Perry, Ryan Parson and Josh Sanders (Distance Medley Relay – 4th – 10:57.01).
On the men's side, the Roos have 45 points through five scored events, just one point behind second-place Utah Valley, while the women sit fourth with 34 points, one point behind New Mexico State for third after seven events.
The Blue & Gold will finish off the WAC Championship on day three tomorrow in Nampa.
