KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC track & field teams sit third (women’s) and fourth (men’s) after the first day of scoring and two events in the 2018 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Lawrence, Kan., at Rock Chalk Park.
In the 10,000 meter run, Nathan Keown grabbed the first title for UMKC, crossing the line in a time of 31:03.75, the fifth fastest time in UMKC history.
Gabriel Foster notched four points for the women with a fifth place finish in the heptathlon adding 1,289 points to yesterday’s total to finish fifth in the event, while Daiwa Emmert garnered three points for the Roos with a sixth place result.
For the men, Zane Lockhart picked up 4 points for UMKC with a fifth place finish in the decathlon with 5,762 points.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again tomorrow at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence for day three of the WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with the field events starting at 11 a.m. CT and the track events beginning at 3 p.m. CT.
