LAS VEGAS, Nev. – UMKC men’s soccer (2-12-2, 1-7-2) was beaten 3-1 at UNLV (7-11-1, 5-4-1) in the season finale Saturday night at Johann Field. Felipe Cepeda (Cali, Colombia) gave the Roos an early 1-0 lead with a 10th-minute goal but three Rebels scores in the second half proved to be the difference.

Three minutes into the second half, UNLV’s Oscar Velazquez tied the score. The Rebels took the lead for good in the 60th minute on a goal by Memo Diaz. Velazquez added his second goal of the game to increase the lead to 3-1 in the 71st minute.

Popgeorgiev finished with a team-high two shots on goal. Filippo Errico (Verona, Italy) made three saves in goal.
