KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC women’s golf team wrapped up its 2019 season after competing in 10 events during the fall and spring seasons. Below are a list of the results and accomplishments from the 2019 campaign.

2019 Regular Season:

  • Three top-five finishes
  • Fifth place finish at the WAC Championships
  • Competed with four newcomers in 2019
  • Lowest round on the year came at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational (+8, Oct. 21-23rd)

Cynthia Diaz Rueda:

  • Notched two top 10 finishes for 2019
  • Recorded a third place finish in the Kansas City Intercollegiate Invitational out of 67 players
  • Second on the team this year in lowest stroke average (75.65)
  • Played in all 10 events for UMKC
  • Fired the second lowest round on the season (70)
  • Posted a score of 75 or under 14 times on the year
  • Holds the lowest career scoring average in team history (75.16)
  • Currently holds the top three of the top four single season scoring averages all-time (2015-18)
  • In 54 hole tournaments, she has secured six of the 10 lowest scores of all-time in UMKC history

Theresa de Bochdanovits:

  • Recorded three top-30 finishes for 2019
  • Finished eighth at the Kansas City Intercollegiate Invitational
  • Posted the top score in three of the five tournaments in spring play for the Roos
  • Fired the lowest round on the season for UMKC (69), which is third in team history
  • Played in all 10 events for UMKC
  • Averaged the lowest score of any Roos player in 2019 (75.79)
  • Posted three rounds at or below par
  • Shot a total score of 213 thru 54 holes
  • Recorded a score of 75 or under 15 times

Caroline Klemp:

  • Finished third in total strokes (2269), lowest round (72), scoring average (78.24) and total score thru 54 holes (227)
  • Lowest round came at the WAC Championships (+1, 72)
  • Best finish came at the SDSU Jackrabbit Invitational (T-14, +4)

2019 WAC Tournament:

  • Secured a fifth place finish out of eight teams
  • UMKC shot a total score of +50 (902) thru three rounds
  • Diaz shot a team-best +7 (220) thru 3 rounds at Oakbrook Golf Club
