PUERO VALLARTA, Mexico - In their third event of the spring season, the UMKC women's golf team finished 12th at the three-day Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational at the El-Tigre Golf Club from Thursday through Saturday. After taking ninth (tie) position after day one, the Roos slid down to the 12th spot with a 62-over par 926 (308-310-308).
Freshman Theresa de Bochdanovits was the first finisher for UMKC with a 10-over par 226 (75-76-75). That effort tied de Bochdanovits for 26th place amongst 67 golfers. The performance is the second of the spring season in which de Bochdanovits finishes first on the UMKC program.
Sophomore Caroline Klemp was the second Roo finisher with a three-day score of 232 (80-78-74) for a 16-over par. Overall, she tied for 43rd place in the event. Klemp has been impressive within the program after a disappointing outing in the first spring event. On March 11-12, Klemp was the first UMKC finisher -- which tied for 14th overall -- and now she is the second Roo into the club house in Mexico.
Arizona claims the team medalist honor with a 10-under par 854 (286-286-282). The top three individual golfers were from Arizona as Bianca Pagdanganan fired a nine-under 207 (70-70-67).
The Roos next compete at the Kansas City Intercollegiate from April 8 - 9.
