KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Looking to finish up the fall 2018 season on a high note, the UMKC women’s golf team will travel down to Arkansas this week to compete in the Little Rock Women’s Classic, which begins on Oct. 28th.
With a gutsy performance that showed many players overcoming huge hurdles last week, head coach Brianna Broderick’s team will look to close out the fall season with consistent shots and smart play from her lineup at the Diamante Country Club.
Coming off a terrific performance at Lakewood Ranch Country Club at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, Theresa de Bochdanovits (Kist, Germany) will look to continue to show her dominance on the course as she finished fourth out of all the players competing in last week’s tournament. In reference to last week’s explosion, Bochdanovits finished with an overall score of 213 (-3), which marked a season low score for 2018.
Even with a few bumps in round one from last week, senior player Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) tapped in a score of 73 for round 2 and closed out the tournament with a score of 229 (+13) in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
A key contributor to keep an eye on as the season winds down is sophomore player Caroline Klemp (Lansing, Kan.), who is ending the fall 2018 season on a high note. Klemp posted a score of 231 (+15), which put her near the middle of the pack following the conclusion of round three.
The trip to down to Arkansas will complete the fall season for the UMKC women’s golf team until the spring season begins. The Roos will hope to crack top five in the leaderboards for the second time this season when they head to compete this week in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
Lineup for the Roos
Taking the reins again for the Roos on Sunday morning will be Bochdanovits, who will be in the lead spot for the second week in a row following her performance at Lakewood Ranch Country Club. Following behind her will be Diaz, Klemp, junior player Jaime Bellingham (Auckland, New Zealand) and rounding out the group will be freshman player Megan Lucas (Topeka, Kan.).
Opposing schools that will be entering the field this upcoming week include: Stephen F. Austin, Central Arkansas, Arkansas State, Missouri State, Western Kentucky, UT Arlington, South Alabama, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas El-Paso, Utah Valley, McNeese State, Northern Iowa, Houston Baptist and Jacksonville State.
