KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC women’s golf team will travel across I-70 to compete at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo. this Monday.

With an 11th place at the MSU Payne-Stewart Memorial, the team looks to bounce back in a big way when they arrive at the University of Missouri in the upcoming days.

Senior Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) has been the anchor for the Roos thus far, placing in the top 10 for both of tournaments the team has played in 2018. Diaz has had a team-best score of 233 during the trip to Ann Arbor Links last week and a score of 219 during the trip to Springfield.

Freshman player Theresa de Bochdanovits (Kist, Germany) has been a standout for the Roos for the first month of the season, reeling in a 225 (+12) from the MSU Payne-Stewart Memorial in early September. Moving up into the lineup card for UMKC, sophomore player Caroline Klemp (Lansing, Kan.) was initially an individual performer for the first two tournaments before getting the nod to play with the pack this week.

Last year in the Johnie Imes Invitational, UMKC took home a 14th place finish at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The team will look to conquer the course this time around with their young, but talented lineup come Oct. 1st.

For the tournament in Columbia, Mo. this weekend, the lineup for the Johnie Imes Invitational will consist of Diaz, Bochdanovits, freshman Jaime Bellingham (Auckland, New Zealand), Klemp and sophomore Victoria Pavlik (San Antonio, Kan.)
