KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC Athletics recorded a school record 982 in NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR), it was announced Wednesday by the NCAA. The new high score is second-best in the Western Athletic Conference. Roos student-athletes also have a multi-year APR score above the national average.
“UMKC student-athletes continue to thrive in the classroom, as reflected in our new record high cumulative APR score,” said Ursula Gurney, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations/Senior Woman Administrator. “I am proud of the hard work of our students and their focus on academic success. Their drive to win in the classroom is outstanding.”
UMKC volleyball and women's tennis both recorded perfect scores of 1,000 while women's basketball notched a 995, men's soccer had a 994 and women's cross country and women's track and field both posted respective 992 totals.
Nine Roos teams – volleyball, women's tennis, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's soccer and men's and women's track and field – are at or above the NCAA average.
