Carli Slagle and her 'Roo teammates will have to wait another week before opening up their 2010 season.

Murfreesboro, Tenn. -- The UMKC softball team will have to wait another week to open its season, as the Middle Tennessee Invitational, which was scheduled for Feb. 12-13, has been called off due to freezing temperatures and continued precipitation.

The sub-freezing temperatures and lack of sunshine have made it impossible for the field to thaw and dry enough to make the infield acceptable for the play.

UMKC, which was scheduled to play four games this weekend, will now open its regular season at the Texas Tech Tournament on Feb. 19-21, where it will play three games against the host Red Raiders and two against Maine.
