KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC women’s soccer team has revealed their 2018 spring schedule that includes seven games and five contests hosted at Durwood Soccer Stadium.
The Roos will kick off the slate this weekend with an upcoming road matchup at Kansas on Saturday, Mar. 10 at 4 p.m. CT. The team will travel for their last road game of the schedule, squaring off with Omaha on Friday, Mar. 16.
After an extended break, UMKC will host Drake on Saturday, Apr. 7 for its final full-length spring contest. A pair of 45 minute home games against Tulsa and William Jewell are slated for Sunday, Apr. 22. The team will wrap up their spring schedule with two 60 minute contests against Kansas State and Butler CC on Saturday, Apr. 28, also taking place at Durwood Soccer Stadium.
The seven spring games come on the heels of an incredible 2017 regular season where UMKC finished 12-7-1 and claimed Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship with a perfect 7-0 conference record. The Roos will use the spring schedule to prepare for what could be another special season in 2018, where four First Team All-WAC selections – Lexie Howard (Kearney, Mo.), Kelsey Mothershead (Smithville, Mo.), Reighan Childers (Grain Valley, Mo.) and Abby Small (Kansas City, Mo.) – return for head coach Chris Cissell’s eighth season at UMKC. Cissell is coming off a WAC Coach of the Year award.
