UMKC Places 52 On 2011 Summit League Fall Academic All-League Team

(Kansas City, Mo.)  -- Following the conclusion of the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year, The Summit League has announced its Academic All-League Team for the fall season.  A total of 52 UMKC student-athletes from men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball were recognized as Academic All-League Team selections.

In all, 517 Summit League student-athletes were honored, with the 52 from UMKC ranking as the third highest total among the 10 league members, trailing only Western Illinois' 54 and IPFW's 53.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-Summit League Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. In order to be named a Distinguished Scholar, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.60 GPA
