(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC men's cross country team finished the Pre-Nationals Meet from Terre Haute, Ind., in 23rd place with an average time of 26:06, while the women finished in 24th position with an average time of 23:00.
Leading the way for the men's squad was Cosmas Ayabei, as the junior placed 18th with a time of 24:04. Zach Mathias was the 'Roos second highest finisher in 83rd position with a time of 25:35, while Brandon Leibold came in 176th with a time of 26:27. Rounding out the UMKC line-up were Alloch Burton (196th - 26:43), Daniel Mann (240th - 27:09), Dirk Hudson (251st - 27:23) and Brett Guemmer (262nd - 27:35).
On the women's side, Sarah Meiners was the 'Roos high finisher in 62nd position with a time of 22:03. Aubrey Frederking was the squad's second highest finisher in 141st position with a time of 23:05, while Jylian Jaloma placed 147th with a time of 23:10. Rounding out the Kangaroo line-up were Courtney Frerichs (149th - 23:12), Siara Stahl (168th - 23:29) and Angel Gannon (290th - 25:40).
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Oct. 29 when they head to Tulsa, Okla., for The Summit League Championships.
