(Fort Wayne, Ind.) - The UMKC women's tennis team wrapped up regular season play in the Summit League on Saturday morning in Fort Wayne against IPFW, falling 4-1. Even with the loss, the 'Roos clinched a spot in the conference postseason tournament to be held in Kansas City on April 27-28.

The contest was tightly played, but IPFW seemed to have the edge in each of the close matches. UMKC (11-9, 6-2 SL) fell in each of the doubles outings, even with a tightly played No. 1 pairing by Laura Bouet and Eva Dalvai, who fell 8-6.

The 'Roos bounced back to tie it with a win at No. 2 singles by Bouet, taking a 6-2, 6-3 win over Marcy Huck. The Mastodons rallied to win the next three matches in deciding third sets though. The first came at No. 4 when Maddie Schulte battled, but dropped the third set 6-4. Amelie Amsallem and Dalvai were also close at No. 3 and 1, respectively, but both dropped narrow 6-4 final sets.

Next up, the 'Roos will head home to face Southwest Baptist on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Plaza Tennis Center.
