Shortstop Kaelene Curry then reached after getting hit by a pitch.  After a Kelly Fischer fly out, Emily Ott cleared the bases with a three-run double off the bottom of the left-centerfield fence, putting the 'Roos on top, 3-1.  The next UMKC batter, Megan Vicino, reached base and advanced to second on an error that scored Ott and later came around to cross the plate on Amanda Kinn's RBI single, giving UMKC a 5-1 lead heading into the sixth inning.

After a scoreless sixth inning, the 'Roos tacked on two more runs in the seventh on a two-run single by Kinn, scoring Curry and Fischer and pushing the lead to the final margin of 7-1.

Kinn led the team at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Ott finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.  Fischer added two hits and a run, while Curry chipped in a hit and two runs.  Vicino finished with an RBI and a run in the win.
