In the 300-meter dash event, the women had five runners finish in the top 15 led by senior Sa'Kia Taylor's fourth place finish (40.98). As for the others, freshman Briana Carter finished eighth (41.55), sophomore Veronica Rollins finished ninth (41.65), senior Autumn Scott finished 10th (42.29), and senior Danielle Olive finished 11th (42.31).
In the 60-meter hurdle event, Shakira Thomas finished fourth (8.94) and sophomore Shanelle Williams finished sixth (9.06).
In the 4x300-meter Relay competition, UMKC had two groups place in the top three. Finishing second (2:43.68), Group A featured Autumn Scott, Sa'Kia Taylor, Briana Carter, and Veronica Rollins. Group B featured Danielle Olive, sophomore Viola Kleiser, Michelle Momo, and sophomore Chelsea Richardson as they finished third (2:47.20).
As for the field events, the women had three athletes finish in the top 10 in the long jump event led by Jasmine Cooper's fourth place finish. Behind Cooper, Momo finished fifth and Carter finished eighth.
In the triple jump event, UMKC also had three athletes finish in the top 10 with Richardson finishing fourth, Shakira Thomas finishing fifth, and Cooper finishing sixth.
Rounding out the field events for the women, the Kangaroos had two athletes finish in the top 10 in the shot put event with junior Susan Brueggemann finishing fifth and freshman Dahlia Dyson placing ninth.
On the men's side, senior Redell Frazier finished second in the 600-yard dash event with a time of 1:12.29. Last week at the Bob Simmons Challenge, Frazier finished first in this event.
For the second meet in a row, senior DC Okanta finished first (14'-73") in the triple jump event.
In the shot put and weight throw events, junior Ramon Nelson finished fourth.
Up next for the Blue & Gold will be the Bill Eaton Classic in Lawrence, Kan. hosted by KU on Jan. 7. Times are to be announced.
