LINCOLN, Neb. – The UMKC track and field team will travel to the University of Nebraska on Saturday for the Husker Spring Invite at Ed Weir Stadium. Three schools – North Dakota State, UNI and host Nebraska – will compete with the Roos in the quadrangular meet.
The women’s hammer throw will begin field events at 9 a.m. CT, while running events for UMKC will get underway with the women’s 4x400-meter relay at 1:30 p.m. CT.
A total of 20 men are expected to compete in 16 events, including Christopher Bryan (St. Catherine, Jamaica) who will participate in a team-high five events. On the women’s side, 24 student-athletes are projected to battle in 17 events, with Carolyn Ross (St. Louis, Mo.) and Jada Steele (Detroit, Mich.) competing in five events apiece.
UMKC returns four Western Athletic Conference individual champions, eight first team all-conference performers and 13 second team All-WAC honorees from last season.
The Roos will continue the outdoor season at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kan., on April 14-15.
