KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC women’s golf team finished the Kansas City Intercollegiate in sixth place at the Creekmoor Golf Club in Raymore, Mo., shooting a +48, 624 (310-314) in the two-round event.
Cynthia Diaz posted a top-10 finish for the Roos, finishing in a tie for 10th at +9. In the opening round, the Colombian tallied a trio of birdies, including back-to-back birdies on the par-5 No. 13 and the par-4 No. 14, leading to a +3, 75. In round two, meanwhile, she added three more birdies, two on the back nine and one on the front nine.
Coming in a tie for 14th was Chandler Gallagher at +11. Gallagher finished with a pair of birdies on the par-5’s of Nos. 9 and 18 in round one, while adding a third birdie in round two on the par-4 No. 2.
Victoria Pavlik finished in 21st at +12 after notching a pair of birdies in each round, two on par-4’s and two on par-5’s, while Maria Henao tied for 32nd at +16 with a first round birdie on the par-4 No. 15 and a second round birdie on the par-3 No. 7.
Rounding out the UMKC lineup was Celine Lim who placed in a tie for 40th at +20, birdieing the par-3 No. 18 in round one and the par-3 No. 1 in round two.
Playing as an individual, meanwhile, Cyrielle Kern tied for 14th at +5, carding birdies on No. 1 and No. 13 in round one.
The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Apr. 16-18 when they head to Phoenix, Ariz., for the WAC Championship at the Legacy Golf Resort.
