Roos Claim Six Titles in Zach Kindler Wildcat Invite

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC track & field teams continued their outdoor season this week when they took part in the Zach Kindler Wildcat Open in Baldwin, Kan.

Traci Mills led the Roos in the event, claiming the title in the long jump with a mark of 6.03m, third best in school history and second best in the WAC this season, while her triple jump was also good for the event title and third best mark in the WAC.  Jayla Riggins, meanwhile, finished right behind in second position in the long jump with a jump of 5.79m, fourth best in the WAC.

In the throws, Rebecca Finley won the shot put with a toss of 12.78m, while finishing third in both the discus throw and hammer throw.  Her discus mark of 50.30m is third in the WAC and hammer throw of 47.59m was good for 12th.

Jada Steele added the Roos third title with a time of 15.50 in the 100-meter hurdles and Malon Lee the fourth and fifth with a win in the 100-meter dash at 12.64 and the 200-meter dash at 25.88.

For the men, Perry Adderley won the shot put at 15.80m.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on May 3 when they head to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Arkansas Twilight.
