KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC’s Carolyn Ross has been named Western Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for April 16-22.

Ross, a junior from Scottsbluff, Neb., notched a school record in the 400-meter Hurdles at the Kansas Relays. She won the event in a time of 59.73, good for best in the WAC. Ross is the first Roo to break the one-minute mark in program history. She also ranks 55th throughout the NCAA.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Apr. 27 when they head to Baldwin, Kan., for the Zach Kinder Wildcat Open.
