- The UMKC Men's Golf program posted a seven-under par 845 (284-275-286), finishing ahead of Big 10 members Indiana, Wisconsin and Nebraska, eventually tying for fifth in the 13-team Hawkeye Invitational that occurred Saturday and Sunday at the Finkbine Golf Course. After round one, the Roos were 10th, but vaulted up to third after the second round and would end up tying for fifth with the University of Minnesota.

Sophomore Paul Foulquie came into the clubhouse with a three-under par 210 (71-67-72) to notch the best score for UMKC. The performance was his best of the spring season, with his first 20 finish of the 2019 calendar year and first time being first as a Roo this year. Using 11 birdies and 35 pars, Foulquie had the sixth-best score on par-5 holes at 8-under. During his best round -- a 67 in the second round -- Foulquie recorded three birdies during a six-hole stretch to put himself in position to take home a top-10 individual finish as he was tied for 11th. However, his one-over par 72 in the final round put him in the 16th (tie) spot.

Junior McCain Schellhardt was the other Roo shooting under-par with a one-under 212 (70-70-72) to tie for 22nd overall. Schellhardt has now finished first or second on the team in eight-of-nine events during the fall and spring season. With two rounds under par in Iowa City, Schellhardt is the team leader in rounds at-or-below par at 16 and stroke average (71.38, entering this event).

Sophomores Maxence Catherine and Vitek Novak recorded one-over par 214's to end up tied for 29th overall.

Host school -- the University of Iowa -- fired a 43-under par 809 (262-277-270) to boast the team championship. The one-two punch of Iowa teammates Matthew Walker and Alex Schaake tied for the No. 1 individual position with a 14-under par 199.
