KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC men’s tennis team kicked-off its fall campaign when it took part in the weather-shortened Bluejay Invitational this past weekend in Omaha, Neb.

In the event, the Roos had a pair of doubles teams going in Flight A, including Anil Patel and Josh McDermott and Ben Stride and Hunter Clark.

To open the tournament, Patel and McDermott knocked-off Creighton’s duo of Mease and Gandini, before beating Doane’s pairing of Morrell and McCartney, advancing them to the championship match.

Stride and Clark, meanwhile, beat North Dakota’s pair of Tang and Kuhlman, as well as the Fighting Hawks Sitar and Buth.
