KANSAS CITY – The UMKC Men’s Soccer team won their exhibition match against MidAmerica Nazarene, with a final score of 3-0.

After a 50 minute rain delay to the start of the match, the Roos took the field and never looked back, scoring goals in the 12’, 75’ and 82’ minutes. Senior midfielder Diego Serfaty assisted and scored on the first two goals of the night to help the Roos stay in front of the Pioneers. Senior forward Pantelisz Popgeorgiev then put the Roos’ up for good with the third goal of the game.

Entering the second period, UMKC led both teams in shots on goal by an 8-2 margin, leading the attack throughout the latter half of play.

Only losing two starters from last year, UMKC brings experience and chemistry to the field from the previous campaign. After recording a 5-10-3 (3-7) record from the 2017-2018 season, the Roos’ look to improve their winning culture by gaining valuable game time through these two exhibition games on the schedule.

The next exhibition game will be played against inner city rival Rockhurst on Saturday (8/18) before the season opener against Missouri State next Friday (8/24) at Durwood Stadium.
