KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC men’s soccer team announced their completed schedule for the upcoming 2018 season on Thursday. The schedule includes 17 matches, nine of which will be played at Durwood Soccer Stadium, and also holds two exhibition contests with MidAmerica Nazarene and Rockhurst. The Roos will square off with opponents from the Big Ten and Missouri Valley Conference prior to opening Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play.

“We are very pleased with our 2018 schedule,” noted head coach Rick Benben. “We begin with a very demanding nonconference slate, which features home games against Missouri State, Oral Roberts and Drake.  The Men’s WAC conference will continue to be one of the top conferences in all of Division I and we are looking forward to the competition.”

Following the home exhibition matches, UMKC opens up the 2018 regular season with a home contest against Missouri State (Aug. 24) before traveling to square off with SIU Edwardsville (Aug. 28). The team will return home for two matches against Oral Roberts (Aug. 31) and Drake (Sep. 4) at Durwood Stadium.

A challenging two-game road swing at Northwestern (Sep. 9) and Missouri State (Sep. 14) wraps up nonconference play for the Roos before the team begins their WAC schedule with a season-long three-game home stand. UMKC will host conference foes Air Force (Sep. 22), Seattle U (Sep. 28) and San Jose State (Sep. 30) over the stretch.

Three consecutive matches on the road with UT Rio Grande Valley (Oct. 5), Incarnate Word (Oct. 7) and Utah Valley (Oct. 13) await the team following the extended home-stand as the calendar flips over. UMKC resumes WAC play in the month of October with home games against UNLV (Oct. 19) and Grand Canyon (Oct. 21).

The final road trip of the season has the Roos taking on California Baptist (Oct. 26), the newest addition to the WAC competing in their first season in the league, and CSU Bakersfield (Oct. 28). UMKC wraps up the regular season with home match against Houston Baptist (Nov. 3), where the team will honor its 10 senior student athletes on Senior Day.

Season tickets for the 2018 season are now on sale and can be purchased online through the team’s website or by calling 844-UMKC-FAN.
