UMKC Heads to Arkansas for Pair of Matches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women’s tennis returns to action this weekend with a pair of matches in Arkansas.  The Roos open up the weekend on Saturday with a 9 a.m. CT contest with Arkansas State, before taking on Central Arkansas the following day at 10 a.m. CT with both matches taking place in Jonesboro, Ark.

UMKC Roos (1-1) at Arkansas State Red Wolves (0-4) | vs. Central Arkansas Sugar Bears (1-1)

Dates & Times: Jan. 27, 9 a.m. CT at A-State | Jan. 28, 10 a.m. CT vs. UCA

Location: Jonesboro, Ark.

The Roos hit the road for the first time in 2018 when they take on the Red Wolves and the Sugar Bears this weekend.

 

The Blue & Gold opened the season splitting their matches, picking up a win over Omaha, while falling to Kansas State a week ago.  For her efforts on the week, Katie Fries (Overland Park, Kan.) was named WAC Singles Player of the Week.

 

For the opponents, Arkansas State will be looking for its first when of the season after falling to TCU, Southern Miss and twice to Mississippi State, while Central Arkansas has fallen to Missouri and knocked-off Southeast Missouri State.
