PRINCEVILLE, KAUA’I, Hawaii. – The UMKC men’s golf team slipped into 14th position entering the final round of the talent-laden Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational.

Taylor Larsen (Garden City, Kan.) continues to lead the Roos as the freshman is tied for 27th after shooting a 1-under 71 in round two to move to -4 for the event.  In the round, Larsen carded a total of six birdies on the day, while playing the front nine at 5-under and bogey-free.

McCain Schellhardt (Edmond, Okla.) is one shot back of Larsen in a tie for 37th, matching him with a 71 in round two.  Schellhardt’s round included back-to-back birdies on Nos. 4 and 5 and two more on the back nine.

In a tie for 60th at even-par is Paul Foulquie (Paris, France) who followed his first round 71 with a second round 73 that featured four birdies, including back-to-back on the par-4’s of Nos. 14 and 15.

No. 55 Francois Lagraulet (Bordeaux, France) finished the second round in a tie for 71st after an even-par 72 that included three birdies on the front nine and a back nine with one birdie and zero bogies.

Sam Humphreys (Edmond, Okla.), meanwhile, rounded out the UMKC lineup with a 75 in round two that included three birdies and placed him in a tie for 89th overall.

No. 40 Louisville holds the team lead in the event by five shots over No. 36 Missouri and 12 shots over No. 20 UCLA.  Individually, the Tigers’ Hayden Buckley is the leader at -17, two shots better than the Cardinals’ Simon Zach.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action again tomorrow when they tee-off at 1 p.m. CT in round three of the tournament.
