KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC volleyball team hits the road in Western Athletic Conference play when it heads to Bakersfield, Calif., on Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. CT to face CSU Bakersfield and Phoenix, Ariz., on Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. CT to take on Grand Canyon.
About the Roos
UMKC comes into the weekend with a 7-13 mark on the season and a 3-4 record in conference action, picking up wins over Grand Canyon, Chicago State and Seattle. Three Roos have topped the 100-kill mark on the season, including 200 from Alicia Harrington (Cedar Falls, Iowa), 159 from Mykal Sadler (Des Moines, Iowa) and 159 from Alex Ratzlaff (Hillsboro, Kan.). In the back row, Rhegan Spiegel (Savannah, Mo.) has a team-high 293 digs and Ratzlaff has chipped in 221.
About the Roadrunners
CSU Bakersfield enters the match with 12-10 record overall and a record of 5-2 in WAC action with wins over all but NMSU and UTRGV, who they fell to last week. On the season, six Roadrunners have tallied over 100 kills, led by Haylee Roberts’ 215, while six have also topped the 100 dig mark with Emily Lopes’ 473 topping the squad.

Grand Canyon comes into the weekend with a 5-14 record on the season and a 0-7 record in WAC play. Claire Kovensky tops the team with 211 kills and Teagan DeFalco has added 192. In the back row, Emma Ahern has 306 digs, with DeFalco adding 238 and Kovensky adding 208.
The Blue & Gold returns home for its final home stand of the year when it welcomes in New Mexico State on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. and UTRGV on Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
