Roos Finish 8th at Hawkeye Invitational; Lagraulet Ties for 6th Individually

IOWA CITY, Iowa – UMKC men’s golf finished eighth out of 14 teams Sunday at the Hawkeye Invitational at the Finkbine Golf Course. Francois Lagraulet (Bordeaux, France) tied for sixth individually at 2-under par. Sunday’s action featured the last half of the second round that was shortened due to rain on Saturday as well as the final round.

Lagraulet completed his stellar second round with a 68 (-4). He shot an even par 72 to close with a total of 214 for the weekend.

Sam Humphreys (Edmond, Okla.) tied for 30th at 4-over after shooting 75 (+3) in the second round and 73 (+1) over the final 18 holes. Jakob Garstecki (Germantown, Wis.) carded a 73 (+1) followed by a 76 (+4) to tie for 38th.

McCain Schellhardt (Edmond, Okla.) closed with a 76 (+4) and 75 (+3). Thibault Vieilledent (Cannes, France) finished with a 78 (+6) and 74 (+2).

Texas Tech won the team title, finishing four strokes ahead of Iowa and five in front of Kansas. Nick Voke of Iowa State won the individual championship at 9-under par.

The Roos will look to defend their Western Athletic Conference championship on April 28-30 in Mesa, Arizona.
