KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC men’s tennis (10-8) earned a 5-2 victory over Creighton (8-10) on Tuesday afternoon at the Plaza Tennis Center. The Roos won four singles matches and were victorious in all three doubles contests.

Airam Castellano (Gran Canaria, Spain) made quick work of Armando Gandini on the No. 1 court, 6-0, 6-2. Castellano is now 12-6 and 8-2 in his last 10 matches. Tom Kruse (Flensburg, Germany) did the same in the No. 4 match, defeating Alex Koca 6-0, 6-1. Kruse is 9-8 on the year. Mike Psarros (Athens, Greece) outlasted Aaron Chalstrom in the No. 5 contest, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 to improve to 8-4 overall with four straight victories. Vinh Pham (Lenexa, Kan.) also won in three sets over Jake Glazer in the No. 6 matchup, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.

Uldis Gaismins (Riga, Latvia) fell 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 in the No. 2 match against Harrison Lang. Amaury Navette (Paris, France) dropped a 7-6, 6-1 decision to Brooks Kendall on the No. 3 court.

In doubles play, Castellano and Psarros improved to 10-1 overall with a 6-0 victory over Brooks and Lang in No. 1 action. Gaismins and Navette beat Chalstrom and Gandini 7-5 on the No. 2 court. Kruse and Pham topped Daniel Lopez-Rey and Michael Koch 6-4 in the No. 3 contest.

UMKC travels to Oral Roberts on April 18 for a 1 p.m. CT matchup. The Roos close the regular season on Senior Day April 21 vs. Saint Louis on the Plaza.
