KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women’s golf placed fourth and Mackenzie Black (Independence, Iowa) finished fifth individually at the Kansas City Shootout that completed on Monday. The Roos shot 321 (+33) in the final round. Black finished at 13-over par after shooting a third round 79 (+7).
Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) tied for 12th individually at 18-over. She shot 80 (+8) on Monday morning. Maria Henao (Pereira, Colombia) tied for 25th while competing as an individual, finishing with an 81 (+9).
Cyrielle Kern (Cuvry, France) carded an 80 (+8) while Abbey Campbell (Garden City, Kan.) and Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) and Celine Lim (Shah Alam, Malaysia) shot 82 (+10). Victoria Origel (Irapuato, Mexico) finished with an 87 (+15).
Northern Illinois won the team title, finishing seven strokes ahead of Wichita State. Taryn Torgerson of the Shockers won the individual title at 8-over par.
UMKC returns to the course when the Roos host the Western Athletic Conference Championship April 19-21 at Indian Hills Country Club in Mission, Kansas.
