WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – UMKC women’s golf is tied for eighth after shooting a collective total of 612 (314-298, +36) in the first two rounds of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Monday. The Roos improved by 16 strokes over the second 18 holes and are ahead of 14 other teams.

“The ladies had a rough start this morning, but certainly came back firing on all cylinders this afternoon,” head coach Brianna Broderick said. “We will look at continuing our success from this afternoon in tomorrow’s final round.”

Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) tied for 19th individually at 7-over par after shooting 78 (+6) and 73 (+1). Mackenzie Black (Independence, Iowa) is tied for 27th after carding consecutive scores of 76 (+4). Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) is tied for 33rd, one shot behind Black after shooting 80 (+8) and 73 (+1).

Maria Henao (Pereira, Colombia) is tied for 47th after finishing at 80 (+8) and 76 (+4). Cyrielle Kern (Cuvry, France) shot 83 (+11) and 78 (+6).

Ball State leads in the team standings at 17-over par. Richmond is six strokes back. Liz Choi of William & Mary leads individually after shooting 1-under par on her home course.

Tuesday’s final round begins at 7:15 a.m. CT.
